MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS
Standard Single Line Installation
Go To Step 9 for Splitline™ Line Installation
6. Cut two (2) equal lengths of new trimming line
approximately 10 feet (3 m) long.
7. Holding the two pieces of line together with the ends
even, insert the ends into the slotted hole in the inner
reel (Fig. 14). Approximately 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) of
the line will fit in the hole. Do not force line into the
hole.
NOTE: When starting to wind the line, take care not to
pull either piece out of the slotted hole.
8. Wind the lines in tight even layers onto the inner reel,
in the direction indicated on the inner reel. Place
your index finger between the two lines to stop the
lines from overlapping, twisting or crossing each
other (Fig. 15). Do not overlap, twist or cross the
ends of the line. Proceed to step 12.
Splitline™ Line Installation
9. Cut approximately 10 feet (3 m) of new trimming line.
Insert one end of the line into the slotted hole in the
inner reel (Fig. 14). Only about 1/2-inch (13 mm) of line
will fit into the hole. Do not force line into the hole.
10. Before winding, split the opposite end of the line
back about 6 inches (152 mm).
11. Wind the line in tight even layers in the direction
indicated on the inner reel. Do not twist the line while
winding.
12. Continue to wind until there is approximately 6
inches (152 mm) of line left.
NOTE: Failure to wind the line in the direction indicated
will stop the cutting line from advancing.
13. Insert the ends of the line into the two holding slots
(Fig. 16). Leave about 4 inches (102 mm) of line
beyond the holding slots.
