DECORATIVE TRIMMING
This trimmer has been designed and built to withstand

operator to release more trimming line without stopping the
motor. To release additional line. lightly tap the trimming
head on the ground (Fig. 12) while operating the trimmer at
high
speed.

Each time the head is bumped, about 25.4 mm (1 in) of
trimming line is released. A blade in the guard will cut the
line to the proper length if excess line is released.
For best results, tap the head on bare ground or hard soil. If
line release is attempted in tall grass, the engine may stall.
NOTE: Always keep the trimming line fully
extended. Line release becomes more
difficutt as the cutting line becomes
shorter.

EDGING
The rotating Split Boome makes it easy to use the trimmer
for edging.
1.
Loosen the wing screws on the Split Boome coupler,
press the release button, and rotate the lower boom to
the desired position. Tighten the wing screws on the
coupler before proceeding to edge (See Fig.
5
on
page
5).
2.
When edging, let the tip of the trimming line
do
the
work. Cut with the trimmer in the position shown
(Fig. 14).
